För första gången någonsin! Ett musikaliskt möte mellan två av landets bästa musiker inom indisk klassisk musik - den sydindiska fiolspelaren Arun Venkitaraman och Sveriges egen tabla maestra Suranjana Ghosh. Den senare har också lovat att bjuda på utvalda guldkorn ur sin vida solorepertoar. Det blir ett blixtrande möte mellan karnatisk och nordindisk tradition!

Arun Venkitaraman - Violin

Dr. Arun Venkitaraman is a violinist in the South Indian classical music tradition. He is known for his vibrant, soothing, and intricate style of playing. Arun started his initial training under late Smt. Vijayam Ramaswami of Navi Mumbai at the age of 14. He continues his advanced training under the guidance of Smt. Vasantha Kannan from Chennai, India in the Lalgudi style of violin playing. Arun is a post-doctoral researcher in artificial intelligence at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, at KTH Royal Institute of Technology Stockholm. Arun has given numerous solo and accompaniment concerts at various prestigious venues in India and Europe.

Suranjana Ghosh -Tabla

Suranjana Ghosh is one of the very few female professional tabla players from India. A disciple of Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, she moves across a broad spectrum of musical styles, in India and in the West. In the 2000s she had many collaborations with musicians in Sweden and numerous and diverse music projects. With roots in North Indian Classical music, Suranjana meets music and musicians from various genres: Indian raga, Swedish folk, blues, jazz, flamenco, church music, opera, etc.
